An Attitude of Gratitude
As we look back on 1997, it’s amazing to see all that God has done. We truly are thankful for who He is
and what He has done in our lives. Here are just a few of the things for which we are thankful this year:
- We are thankful for God keeping us healthy.
- We are thankful for our families.
- We are thankful that God has enabled us to be here in Fresno over the past 18 months while Jen’s dad
has recovered from his brain surgery.
- We are thankful that Jennifer’s sister and brother-in-law were able to move back to Fresno from the
Bay area.
- We are thankful that the Lord has enabled us to start new ministries at 3 of the surrounding
community colleges.
- We are thankful that the Lord provided a 2nd vehicle for us so that we can minister on more than one
campus.
- We are thankful for our church.
- We are thankful for the opportunity that we had in November to get away and spend a weekend alone
together at the coast.
- We are thankful for those students to whom we have the privilege of ministering.
- We are thankful for those students like Linda, John, Daniel and Sal, who have made decisions with us
this semester to begin a relationship with Christ.
- We are thankful for the 115 people who made a commitments to Christ during our Andre Kole
outreach.
- We are thankful that we have a new staff woman to help us with the women’s ministry.
- We are thankful for you, our minstry supporters, who faithfully pray for us and support our ministry
financially. Without you, our ministry would not be possible.
Thank you so much for your constant prayers and encouragement to us. You truly are a blessing from
the Lord!

Dave & Jen’s Getaway
1 SAN LUIS OBISPO- Jennifer and I had the opportunity to get out of town the first weekend in November. We spent
the weekend in San Luis Obispo. Among other things, we did some shopping and visited Hearst Castle.
Another Campus Crusade Wedding
2 SAN JOSE - Jennifer and I attended the wedding of a friend of ours from our old San Jose Crusade days. We had a great time seeing
old friends .
International Thanksgiving Dinner
3 FRESNO - On Monday, November 24th, Campus Crusade hosted a Thanksgiving dinner for International Students. About 50
students from different countries showed up to partake in a traditional turkey dinner. At my table, I particularly enjoyed getting to know
Paul and Roma, both students from Russia.
Paul and Roma both seemed surprised to learn that I had not only visited their country, but also their region of Siberia.
Many of the students who attended indicated an interest in spiritual things. Pray for these students as we meet with them
and share the gospel with them.
Thanksgiving in Groveland
4 GROVELAND - Jennifer and I spent Thanksgiving with my family at my parents house in Groveland. For those who are curious, it’s about an hour west of Yosemite. We didn’t get any snow, but we got plenty of rain. Overall, it was a pretty relaxing time. After 5 turkey meals though, I’m ready for a different meat.
Christmas Conference
5 SAN DIEGO - Once again, we will be holding our annual Christmas Conference in San Diego from December 27th through January 1st.
The Christmas Conference is usually a great time for students to focus on their relationship with the Lord, and to get a vision for reaching their campus.
We have about 20 students from Fresno who are committed to going and another 5-10 who are still undecided.
- Pray that each student who attends would be ministered to and would commit themselves to walking with God.
- On the 29th, we will be doing some evangelism and outreach within the community. Pray that we would be effective ambassadors for Christ.
- Pray for a safe week .
