"The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it."
1 Thess. 5:24

God is So Faithful!

One of my favorite verses in the Bible is I Thessalonians 5:24. It says “The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it.”

It has been so exciting to see the Lord raise up students who have a vision to reach their campus.

However, I have often felt like I lack the faith that it takes to believe that God will actually build a movement of students at UC Davis who will reach each and every student with the love of Christ.

About a month ago we decided to have an evangelism training day at our apartment. Dave and I were wondering how many people would show up.

The training time started at 2 p.m. and at 2:10 there was only one student here. But gradually students began to show up and we had 16 students for the training day.

That’s exciting because that’s more people than we’ve had even at our weekly meetings.

At the end of the training time one of the students said “I think that we should actually apply what we are learning and go out and share Christ with people on campus next week.”

I almost started to tear up because I began to see God’s faithfulness in bringing students together who want to reach their campus.

The following Tuesday, we met during the lunch hour to pair up and go out on campus to talk to students about Christ.

One of our students named Ashley saw a guy who lived in her dorm.

She asked him if he would be willing to answer a short questionnaire about spiritual things. He said yes. After asking the questions, Ashley had a chance to share the Four Spiritual Laws with him. Guess what? He received Christ!

Alice, the girl who was paired with Ashley, had never shared her faith before. Ashley and Alice were both SO excited to be able to share with someone who was so open.

God’s faithfulness in orchestrating that meeting is so encouraging for me to see. God is doing incredible things here.

Of the 16 students who attended our training day, 13 were freshmen. It’s so fun to see freshmen catch the vision to reach their campus because they have their whole college career to influence people for Christ.

Knowing that the Lord is so faithful to bring people to Himself even when I am so faithless makes me feel privileged to be able to be working here at UC Davis. Thanks for your partnership with us in reaching college students.

Remember: God , who calls us, is faitfhful. He will do what he calls each one of us to do.

Prayer Requests

1. We have two freshman students who have already told us that they are planning on going on a summer missions project with Campus Crusade. Pray that we will see some other students go as a result of going to the Christmas Conference and hearing about all of the missions opportunities available to them.

2. The winter quarter is starting on January 6. We are in the process of deciding what we should do about a weekly meeting on campus. Pray that we would see many new students getting involved as a result of us having a weekly meeting on campus.
