One of the aspects of the school year that we are most excited about is our opportunity as a movement to reach out to more students this year. We will be able to do this because we have about 20 returning students who have committed to helping us reach students.

The students who have returned from summer projects are particularly excited about reaching out. One thing that has been awesome is to hear all of the plans that they have for the school year.

Stephanie has come back from the Ocean City project with a desire to reach out to the sorority system. She and I will be thinking about different things that we can do to make Christ an issue in the Greek system on campus. As many of you know, the Greek system is by no means an easy place to share Christ. Please pray for Stephanie and me as we reach out to this segment of campus.

Tricia, another student who went on the Ocean City project, has a desire to lead a freshman Bible study with Asian women. Tricia is Asian and has a burden to reach out to the Asian students on campus.

Mike went on the Ocean City summer project and is very gifted musically. He has organized a group of students to play in a worship band for our weekly meetings. This is so amazing for Dave and me to see because this is only our 2nd year on campus, and we never imagined in our wildest dreams that we would have a worship band established already.

Please pray for all of us as we start this school year.

We had the opportunity to travel and visit with many of you. One thing that Dave and I were reminded of is how thankful we are for each one of you who partner with us to reach college students. We wouldn’t be able to reach out and influence students for Christ without your prayers and financial support.

As we shared about our ministry to many people this summer, we realized how privileged we are to do the job that we do on campus. We love reaching students for Christ at UC Davis! As we shared our ministry with people, we got more and more excited about this coming school year and influencing each and every student on campus for Christ.

This summer we had the chance to revisit why we came on staff. We were so encouraged as God reinforced to us our passion for the lost at UC Davis.
