Year 2000 Off to A Fantastic Start

We have had a fantastic year in our ministry here at UC Davis. We want to update you on some exciting things that have happened during the beginning of the winter quarter.

We passed out 3700 copies of a newspaper that we made for the beginning of the winter quarter. We had a girl named Mary Ann email us to let us know what she thought of the Real Life News. Here is what she said:

“I just finished reading ‘Quenching Your Thirst’, and it is just what I needed. I feel exactly the sme as the person who wrote this about a need to fill a void. I think a lot of the time I forget that God can fill that space where I feel alone and like no one cares about me. Thank you for your words.”

We invited a special speaker in to talk on “Making A Millennial-Sized Resolution.” He talked about investing our lives in things that are “global and eternal”. He gave a gospel presentation at the end of the talk and 8 people indicated decisions to become a Christian.

One of the exciting things about our first weekly meeting of the quarter was the number of people in attendence.

Last quarter, we usually had about 40 people at our meetings. At this meeting, though, there were almost 100 people!

We were so excited to see what God did that first week, and also in the lives of our students.

Many students saw their view of God enlarged when they saw how many people were at our first meeting, and how many people received Christ.

Students who helped to pass the newspapers out got a chance to see how God could use them to do something “global and eternal.” We look forward to this quarter to see what other exciting things God will be doing.

1999 San Diego Christmas Conference News

We had a fantastic time at our annual Christmas Conference, which was held in San Diego from Dec. 27-31.

One thing that was exciting was the day of outreach. As a campus we went to a lower income part of San Diego and passed out “Boxes of Love” to families. The boxes had a dinner for a family of 4. We also shared Christ with the families.

One of our students named Sean shared the gospel in Spanish with a woman who prayed to receive Christ. Sean was amazed that he remembered how to speak enough Spanish to the woman because he said it had been a long time since he had used his Spanish skills.

It is amazing how God gives us the words to say when we allow ourselves to be used by Him.

One freshman named Jen shared during one of our campus times together that she has really enjoyed being involved in Campus Crusade because she has learned a lot of stuff, particularly about how to walk with God and how to share her faith with others. It was an encouraging time.

Lowe Family News

Dave and I have some exciting news to share with all of you. We have begun the process of adoption! We wanted to let you know about this exciting chapter in our lives so that you can be praying for us.

We know that this will be a long process, so you can be praying that we will be patient with God and his perfect timing.

We look forward to this new chapter in our lives, and we will keep all of you updated.
