This past weekend UC Davis had its 87th annual Picnic Day. Imagine a huge fair on campus with
food booths, games, etc. It is a huge deal for the community here in Davis.
We decided to have a parent’s dessert social in the evening so that the parents could come and
see what their students are involved in while they are in college.
I was in charge of a panel of 8 students who answered some questions about their involement in
Campus Crusade. I actually picked students from a wide variety of backgrounds. I had freshman,
sophomores and juniors on the panel. I had a freshman named Paul share how he had come to
Christ as a result of Dave meeting with him at the beginning of the year. I had 2 juniors who
have been involved in our group share some of their favorite memories about their involvement
in Campus Crusade over the past year and a half. It was so incredible to hear these students
share their heart for God and their heart to reach students at UC Davis.
I asked all of them what they are most excited about with our group when they think
about next year. They are most looking forward to seeing the campus reached for Christ. Their
vision to reach their campus is truly challenging and motivating to Dave and me. We feel so
privivleged to wake up each day and share with students how to know Christ, and how to grow in
their relationship with Him.
I would have never dreamed 2 years ago when Dave and I moved here how much we wouldhave
grown as a group, and how many students we have seen come to Christ.
Thanks for your partnership with us in reaching students. We are so thankful for you
and your prayers.
It is hard to believe that we are almost done with our second year here at Davis. As a
staff team we are looking to next year and planning for the fall quarter. Please keep us in
your prayers as we begin to think and dream about next year. We can’t wait to see what God has
in store for us as we step out in faith to share the love of Christ with students.
GOD'S PERFECT TIMING
Well, it is official: Dave and I bought a home! There were times that we thought that
we would never see this day arrive!
Over the last few years we found ourselves doubting whether or not God wanted us to
move into a home. What He is always teaching us is that His timing is perfect. When we start
to doubt and get overwhelmed, we need to trust that His timing if perfect, and that He knows
what is best for us.
We moved into our home about a month ago. It is an older home, built in the 60’s, so
there are a lot of things that need to be done . But we are so thankful. We truly see this
house as a miracle, and a special gift. We are excited about opening up our home and
making it a house of ministry to our students and our friends.
Please pray for us as we have many things that we need to do on the home. We are going
to put a new roof on in the summer. Pray that we would have enough money to complete the roof
by the rainy season in the fall.
PRAISE & PRAYER
Well, it’s that time again! On May 15 Dave and I are headed out to Ocean City, New Jersey to
staff the summer project there. We will be gone for 2 months.
We are looking forward to this summer project. We will be taking 6 students from UC
Davis with us.
Please pray for these students as they come to the project. Pray that their vision for
what God can do on their campus will be strengthened, and that they will have a great time
gowing in their relationship with God.
